New school of driving
Back when I learned to drive (in the era of manual transmissions) they taught us to merge into another lane of traffic by safely slowing down and yielding to the traffic already in that lane. Today's drivers seem to have different training. The default now seems to be speed up and "force" your way in. Not only frustrating to the victims, but dangerous to all parties involved. I guess when they cause an accident by doing that, they think they're not at fault because they get hit from behind?
Anyway, I'm not sure when the driver education programs switched their techniques, but I'm not a fan.
