Hi, I'm Teejay. I was born in the 20th century. I like "geeky" things: sci-fi, video games, fountain pens, or anything else that I find fun. I live in Alexandria, Virginia and am using this space to post whatever I feel like sharing or documenting.
This Site
This is my (probably) 20th iteration of some sort of blog on the internet. I've gone from custom code/self-hosted in the 90s to Wordpress or some other hosted solution and everything in between. I'm a "fiddler" and almost never happy with something for long. So we'll see how long this version lasts. wink
I'm currently hosting this site on Pagecord. I tried messing around with Hugo and 11ty but it ultimately didn't fit with my workflow and required more attention than I was able to give it. Bearblog was a good mix of being able to tweak and customize while still being a hosted solution. But ultimately, I wanted something more streamlined and Pagecord had a few features I was anxious to try.
Also, here's a breakdown of my tag schema:
- apps = applications or tools that I use or talk about
- caps = fountain pens, ink, stationery
- snaps = photos or videos
- yaps = thoughts or other blog posts
- project365 = specifically photos from my Project 365 series over the years
