Rather than continuously updating my /now page, I've stolen this Weekly Notes idea from several folks (like Sylvia). This will allow me to update what I've been doing, watching, playing, etc. and have a running record ... rather than an ephemeral page that just disappears when I update it. So here's what happened in week 28 of 2026 for me:
Life
Work is ramping up. One of the other managers left for a new job so we're restructuring our group a little and I'm taking on more responsibility. I have to divest some of my current day-to-day tasks to the rest of my team though so the transition period is a little busy right now. And I'm sure it will be for the next few months while we all figure out a new rhythm.
Blogging
I decided to participate in JulyReply this year. And here we are almost two weeks in and I haven't replied to anything yet. sigh I do have one I'm working on and will publish today or tomorrow.
Playing
I've been adding to my Steam library because of the summer sale, so I tried a couple different games to see what I wanted to play right now. I settled on Graveyard Keeper, which has been a lot of fun. Like Stardew Valley with a weird twist.
I also reinstalled Endless Space 2 because I was in the mood for a 4X game again. The game is almost 10 years old at this point so I had to do the tutorial again. But wow, it’s still a pretty great game!
Reading
I finished the audio book "We Are Legion (We Are Bob)" and liked it so much I picked up the second in the series, "For We Are Many". Such a fun little series with all sorts of geekiness and tropes that I enjoy.
I also decided to re-read the Murderbot series by Martha Wells. So I’ve started at the beginning with “All Systems Red”.
Stationery
I've still been using my TWSBI 580ALR in Prussian Blue with a fine nib this week. And it's still inked with Diamine Aurora Borealis. One of my favorite combinations, so I'll continue with it for at least another week.
I switched back to my Traveler's Notebook recently and am in the process of figuring out the optimal setup for my workflow.
Watching
The wife and I binged "How to Get to Heaven From Belfast" on Netflix. Highly recommend! Funny, snarky, dark, mysterious, with a great story and great acting too.
We also finished the most recent "Welcome to Wrexham" season, the Lilith Fair documentary, and started watching “Dinosaur”. And of course, we watch Jeopardy every night.
